Core Athletics will be forming high school aged teams in Cabarrus County, Rowan County, and North Mecklenburg areas to play in the Metro League. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for players to get quality instruction and game experience. Our desire is to carry the instruction from the cage/bull pen into the game. From our years of experience working with college coaches and pro scouts throughout the east coast, we can provide realistic opportunities for players at the next level.

If you have questions or to register for Core coached team tryouts, please email us at info@mycoreathletics.com and include the following information; Player's Name, Grade, School, Age, Parents Name, Phone Number, Email, Positions Played, and Jersey Size.

Goals of the Metro League

1. Provide high school baseball players in the greater Charlotte area with the opportunity to improve their skills and showcase their talents

2. Provide professional coaching and instruction, as well as competitive summer and fall league play that will give the players the opportunity to display their drive and potential to excel

3. Help area high school coaches develop their players and their programs

4. Allow coaches to keep players together for summer & fall league play to help build "team chemistry"

5. Enhance a player's high school baseball experience

6. Offers parents a viable alternative to the baseball academy or travel teams

Player Eligibility

Players must at least be a rising ninth grader to be eligible. Graduating seniors, or players that have aged out of their high school eligibility (cannot turn 19 before Oct. 16th of said school year), will not be eligible for the Metro Showcase League, as one of the purposes is to help prepare for the next year's high school season

Team Composition

Teams can be formed through your high school. Additional teams through Core Athletics will be formed using high school boundaries as a guide. Area schools can combine to form on team if necessary, but all teams participating within the league have a strict 18 player limit per team.

Core Athletics' tryouts are for players who are not on an individual high school team. Eligible players must first seek out participation with their respective school before playing on a Core team. Once we hold tryouts, we will form teams to best fit all individuals involved by position and competitiveness.

Core Coaching

Each Core coached team will have two coaches, paid by Core Athletics. Additionally, we have roving instructors to help with specific skills in the areas of infield, outfield, catcher, base running, etc. The summer coaches will be members of our staff or area high school coaches

League Play

1.Teams will be placed into divisions based upon relative strength, to help ensure competitive play

2. The season will be comprised of 15 league games plus an end of season tournament

3. The summer season will be finished before August 1st and the fall before November 1st.
